Once the machine warms up, a beep will sound and
the display will prompt you through the steps to make a
book. These helpful machine prompts are noted below.
1. Before inserting your pages in the binder, make
sure they are all aligned by tapping them firmly on
a hard flat surface to ensure that the edges of the
paper are even.
2.
Slide Book in Place.
Place the document in
the top recess and slide it to the right. Tap the pages
again to make sure they are all aligned. (fig. 9)
NOTE:
If the document is too wide for the
normal
opening, press the OPEN button to widen the space
so you can remove pages
. If your document is too
thick for the machine the clamps will re-open so you
can remove some pages.
3.
Push Bind Button.
Press the green BIND
button. The book clamps will close. (fig. 10)
NOTE:
If you notice that your pages are not
perfectly straight, now is the time to fix them.
Press the OPEN button to unclamp them and then
straighten your pages. Press the BIND button to
continue.
4.
Insert NARROW / MEDIUM / WIDE Strip.
The display will measure the thickness of your book
and tell you the correct width of strip to insert. (The
strip length should match your page length) Insert
the strip, adhesive side up, into the guide at the the
right side of machine until it is drawn in. The binding
cycle will start.
NOTE:
If after inserting the strip the cycle does
not start, you may be prompted to insert the strip
further.
5. When the binding cycle is complete (about 15
seconds) a beep will sound and the clamps will open.
6.
Put Book in Cooling Rack.
Remove the bound
document and place it spine down in the cooling rack
for 2-3 minutes. (You should wait 5 minutes before
using your book to allow the binding adhesive to fully
set.) You have just made a great-looking book!
NOTE:
In case you change your mind about what
you want to bind and before you insert a Binderstrip
- press the OPEN button or hit the BIND button a
second time to unclamp the document.
