7. Wheels
The following wheels are supplied with the car:
Front axle:
12x 18” offset 35 mm
Tyre dimensions: 29/65-18 (rain tire)
Rear axle: 13 x 18” offset 12.5 mm
Tyre dimensions: 31/71-18 (rain tire)
Porsche AG strongly recommends that the wheels are cleaned and
a comprehensive visual inspection is carried out after every
practice session or race.
Check for cracks on both the inner and outer faces of the spokes,
damage to the centre lock mating face and deformation to the
wheel well and the fasteners. Careful attention should be paid to
the mileage of the wheels. Use the collected data to ensure that
wheels are used in rotation, therefore ensuring a balanced and
even usage and helping to identify early the need for spares.
7.1. Wheel nuts
The aluminium wheel nuts are marked as follows:
Right-hand side of car = left-hand thread, colour blue
Left-hand side of car = right-hand thread, colour red
Porsche recommends that the wheel nuts are also changed during a long
distance race (after approximately 6 hours running) and to inspect and
service them, which means cleaning the thread, visual inspection and re-
grease with Klüber Nontrop RB3 999.917.507.00. Furthermore, the
contact surface nut - rim should be greased.
Wheel nut tightening torque 500+25 Nm
