HEATING MAIN MONTAGE INSTRUCTIONS CV4.04
8.4. CONNECTION MONTAGE. TYPE 4.
Apply for underground pipeline, if connection needs to be repaired, PE sleeve are not
placed before welding, or pipe section is not long enough for PE sleeve position before
welding of the connection.
Used materials, equipment and instruments are the same as in connection montage Type
3, with the except for aluminum foil in which place is used PE sleeve where longest side is
cut.
Connection montage sequence:
1. If pipe ending insulation layer is damaged, cut damaged part. Check and connect alarm
wires, if alarm system is planned.
2. Place PE sleeve above pipe
connection
area,
positioning
it
symmetrically to pipe casing ends.
Make sure that outside ends of the
sleeve are sloped. Tightly secure
sleeve on casing pipes with tension
belts.
3. Drill openings in the sleeve for pouring in PUR components and air release (see
connection montage Type 1, steps 3 and 4).
4. Prepare a mix of components "A" and "B" and pour it into Ø25 mm opening. Close
opening with air release cork (see connection montage Type 1, steps 11 and 12).
5. Cut by previously determined length L wide heat-shrinkable tape, corresponding to pipe
casing diameter. Cut sloped corners at one end of the tape (see connection montage
Type 3, step 9).
6. After PUR foam hardening (~2,5 hr) cut air release cork knobs. Remove straps.
7. Clean connection area from hard PUR foam waste. PE sleeve and pipe casing ends
clean at the distance of ~100 mm, dry and de-grease. Previously cleaned area work
process using sand paper.
8. Processed with sand paper area heat using propane butane up to ~60°C.
9. Perform wide heat-shrinkable montage according to connection montage Type 3, steps
11 – 13.
