SETTING THE UNIT INTO READY MODE
This Unit is designed for vehicles with a MANUAL Transmission only. In order to start the vehicle by remote, the Unit must
first be set to Ready Mode. If the Unit is not set to Ready Mode, it cannot remote-start the vehicle.
Once the system has been set to Ready Mode, the vehicle can be remote-started and stopped at wish. The system will exit
Ready Mode if a Door or the hood is opened, if the Brake Pedal is pressed, if the Parking Brake is disengaged or if the
Ignition Key is turned ON.
To set the system to Ready Mode you must do the following:
1. Ensure that all the Doors are closed.
2. With the Engine already running, make sure the Shifter is in neutral.
3. Apply the Parking Brake.
4. Within 20 sec. push LOCK / UNLOCK or START on the Transmitter.
5. The Parking Lights will flash 3 times quickly and remain lit.
6. Remove the key: the Engine will go on running.
7. Exit the vehicle and close the Door.
8. Press and hold either:
x
LOCK to lock the Doors and shut down the Engine;
x
UNLOCK to unlock the Doors and shut down the Engine;
x
STOP to shut down the Engine without affecting the Doors.
Note:
press TRUNK to lock the Doors and put the Engine into Idle Mode (the Engine will keep running for the pre-
programmed run time and then shut down).
REMAINING IN READY MODE
Once the vehicle is in Ready Mode you can start and stop the vehicle at wish.
However, should any of the following occur, the vehicle will exit Ready Mode thus eliminating the remote start option until
Ready Mode is restored:
1. Doors
opened
2. Hood
opened
3. Brakes
pressed
4. Parking Brake disengaged
5. Ignition Key turned ON.
Should any of the above occur, Ready Mode will be cancelled.
NOTE:
x
If a Door has to be opened once the Vehicle is parked and stands in Ready Mode, it is necessary to remote-start
the vehicle before opening any Door, and to remote-stop the Engine afterward.
x
The Unit will notify the user it has exited Ready Mode by giving three slow flashes of the vehicle’s Parking Lights.
CLUTCH BYPASSING
Most manual Transmission vehicles will require the Clutch to be pressed in order for the vehicle to CRANK. This is true
under remote start as well, so a Clutch bypass must be performed.
A simple thing to look for when performing a bypass is the maker of vehicle on which you are working. Typically, most
domestic vehicles have a direct Feed wire at the Clutch Switch. This means that the Starter wire in the vehicle becomes
continuous with +12 volts when the Clutch is pressed.
Imported cars typically have a relay that is controlled with the Clutch Pedal. This means that when the Clutch is pressed it
sends a negative signal to a relay, allowing the vehicle to start. (
Always test first.
) Use wire No. 10 (negative at startup) to
switch on the relay, connected so as to duplicate the function of the Clutch Pedal. Afterward, make sure that the Clutch Pedal
is always pressed when the Engine is started with the key.
