Checking the cephalometric beam alignment

Press the ceph mode selection key to enter the ceph mode. The rotating unit and cassette car-
riage will move automatically to the correct position for taking cephalometric exposures.

Enter the service mode, see section “How to enter/exit the service mode” on page B-6.

Orientate the cephalometric beam alignment tool so that it is vertical and then place it in the
cephalometric cassette holder. Position it so that it is on the left of the cassette holder.

Press the collimator selection key twice to skip passed the two panoramic collimator slots and
select the third collimator slot (the first cephalometric slot). The number 4 will appear on the dis-
play.

Stand behind the tube head and protect yourself from radiation. Press and hold down the expo-
sure button. The image of the radiation beam from slot number 4 will appear on the alignment
tool.

NOTE

The soft tissue filter will filter a narrow area of the left side of the radiation beam.

The radiation beam must appear within the borders of the rectangle marked on the alignment
tool. If it does not refer to section“Primary slot calibration” on page D-7. The adjustment is per-
formed in the same way as when adjusting the standard panoramic slot.
