Making receiver settings from the
System Setup menu
The following section desc r ibes how to change the
s p eake r - r elated settings manually and make va r ious
othe r settings (in p ut selection, OSD language selection,
etc.).
1 Switch on the receiver and your TV.
Use the  RECEIVER button to switch on.

• If head p hones a r e connected to the r eceive r ,
disconnect them.
2 Press , then press HOME MENU.

3 Select ‘System Setup’ from the HOME MENU, then
press ENTER.
4 Select the setting you want to adjust.
• Manual SP Setup – Sets the ty p e of connection used
fo r su rr ound back te r minals and the size, numbe r
distance and ove r all balance of the connected
s p eake r s (see Manual speaker setup below).
• Input Setup – S p ecifies what you’ve connected to
the digital, HDMI and com p onent video in p uts (see
The Input Setup menu
on p age 44).

OSD Language
– The GUI sc r een’s dis p lay language
can be changed (see Changing the OSD display
language (OSD Language)
on p age 42).

Other Setup
– Changes customized settings to
r eflect how you a r e using the r eceive r (see
The Other
Setup menu on p age 112).
Manual speaker setup
This r eceive r allows you to make detailed settings to
o p timize the su rr ound sound p e r fo r mance. You only need
to make these settings once (unless you change the
p lacement of you r cu rr ent s p eake r system o r add new
s p eake r s).
These settings a r e designed to customize you r system,
but if you’ r e satisfied with the settings made in
Automatically setting up for surround sound (Auto
MCACC & Full Band Phase Control)
on p age 42, it isn’t
necessa r y to make all of these settings.
CAUTION
• The test tones used in the Manual SP Setup a r e
out p ut at high volume.
1 Select ‘Manual SP Setup’, then press ENTER.

2 Select the setting you want to adjust.
If you a r e doing this fo r the fi r st time, you may want to
adjust these settings in o r de r :

1 Make su r e not to switch off the p owe r when using the System Setu p menu.
2 You can’t use the HOME MENU when eithe r the HOME MEDIA GALLERY, XM, SIRIUS o r iPod/USB in p ut function is selected o r the
head p hones a r e connected. When you set ZONE 2 , ZONE 3 o r ZONE 2&3 to ON ( p age 85), you can’t use the HOME MENU .
