Error
On lifting the handset of an addi-
tional telephone you hear in the
background some brief tones or,
depending on the device type, the
activated outgoing message of your
own built-in answering machine.
Received documents do not appear as
normal at the front of the fax
machine.
Only for fax machines with built-in
answering device:
You have switched on your answering
machine and cannot receive any
faxes.

Even though you interrupt e-mail
reception, you still receive unwanted
e-mails.
Faxes sent by you as e-mail cannot be
opened at the computer.
Despite your Internet access having
been set up, your PABX cannot
obtain a server connection.
Remedy
Press
*
twice to switch off the
tones or the outgoing message. You
can now make a call without
interferences (see chapter
Fax
switch
).
Open the operation panel. Leave
the paper refill flap closed. Pull the
crumpled paper out carefully from
inside.
Record a message without music.
Record a shorter announcement
(no longer than 20 seconds).
Open the operation panel and pull
the paper carefully outwards from
the inside.
Remove the scanner and pull the
paper carefully outwards in one
direction.
This is not a fault!
Get a new ink film.
In order to use e-mail functions
your Internet account must be set-
up correctly (function 17).
All incomplete e-mail transmissions
are stored by your server until e-
mail transmission has been success-
ful or 7 attempts to deliver have
been made.
Check whether your recipient has
installed the respective standard
software in the computer.
The PABX must be set up again by
the manufacturer.
Possible cause
Your additional telephone is con-
nected in parallel.
Paper jam.
You use background music.
Your outgoing message is too long.
One sheet or more sheets of paper
were not drawn in straight.
Too many sheets inserted (more than
50 sheets).
One document was not drawn in
straight or more documents were
both drawn in at the same time.
You are now using an additional
telephone.
Your ink film is nearly used up.
You did not set-up your Internet
account.
