Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Specifications
The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) specifications in this chapter supplement those given in the
Instructions for Use
.
Emissions and Immunity
The product is designed and evaluated to comply with the emissions and immunity requirements of
international and national EMC standards.
The EMC standards state that manufacturers of patient-coupled equipment must specify immunity levels
for their systems. See Tables 1, 2 and 3 for this detailed immunity information. See Table 4 for
recommended minimum separation distances between portable and mobile communications equipment
and the product.
Immunity is defined in the standard as the ability of a system to perform without degradation in the
presence of an electromagnetic disturbance.
Caution should be exercised in comparing immunity levels between different devices. The criteria used for
degradation are not always specified by the standard and can therefore vary with the manufacturer.
Electromagnetic Immunity
The M2720A (referred to in the following sections as the ‘device’) is suitable for use in the specified
electromagnetic environment. The user must ensure that it is used in the appropriate environment as
described below.
In this table, U
T
is the a.c. mains voltage prior to application of the test level.
