PART : BEFORE USING
Before fi rst use of the dishwasher

Check that the electrical and water connection requirements provided in the user's manual match
the technical specifi cations of your power grid and the water mains. You can fi nd out such technical
specifi cations from your power and water suppliers.

Remove all packaging materials from the inside of the dishwasher.
- Set the water hardness (see below).

Put approx. kg of salt into your salt compartment and top up the compartment with water until it almost
overfl ows.

Add rinsing aid.
Water softener
The water softener is made so that it releases minerals and salts contained in water, which would have
a negative eff ect on the operation of the dishwasher. The higher the content of these minerals and salts, the
harder the water is. You should set the water softener according to the water hardness in your area. Information
about water hardness in your area should be provided by your water supply company.
Water hardness varies from place to place. If you use hard water in your dishwasher, scale deposits will be
left on your dishes, which may negatively aff ect the washing effi
ciency and lifetime of your dishwasher. The
appliance should be equipped with a special softener, which uses the salt compartment for salt specifi cally
designed for eliminating scale and minerals from water.
Identifying water hardness
The dish washing effi ciency of your dishwasher depends on the hardness of the water used. Therefore, your
dishwasher is equipped with a system which reduces water hardness at the main water inlet. The better the
system is set up the better the achieved washing effi
ciency. Your water supplier should provide you with
information about water hardness in your area or you may measure it yourself using a simple hardness test,
a special testing strip (not included).
Take the
testing
strip out
of the
packag-
ing.
Allow your
tap water to
fl ow over the
strip for ap-
proximately
1 minute.
Leave the
testing strip
dipped in the
water for ap-
proximately
1 second.
Take it out
of the water
and tap it.
Wait ap-
proximate-
ly 1 minute
for the
result.
Compare the hardness value on
the strip to the hardness table
supplied with the testing strip.
Level 1 Soft water
Level 2 Very low water hardness
Level 3 Low water hardness
Level 4 Medium water hardness
Level 5 High water hardness
Level 6 Very high water hardness
