5.7 Test the Optical Output Signal
After the input signal has been confirmed, the optical power of the associated optical output port
should be tested. Use the optical power meter to test the output levels; the output values should be in
accordance with the technical specifications.
Before testing, the optical power meter must be calibrated. Before measuring optical signals, verify the
interfaces are clean and undamaged.
CAUTION!
The device output optical power measurement procedure and regular maintenance
must be performed by highly trained personnel. All procedures and maintenance
must be comply with the necessary safety precautions indicated with using any
optical transmitter module:
WARNING!
Module emits an invisible laser when working. Avoid direct contact with the laser
connector. DO NOT look directly at the fiber connector.
