• a line at the beginning of the file containing the string “*** Do not manually edit
the GPD file ***”;
• a header with information about the whole measurement session;
• an “Electrodes” table showing the identification and position of the electrodes
used to take the session measurements;
•
a “Measurements” table showing the information relating to each individual
measurement planned during the session, with reference to the identifiers of the electrodes
involved, with the electrical parameters measured if the measurement was taken plus
other information relating to the measurement;
•
a line at the end of the file containing the string “*** End of GPD file ***”.
The three parts of the file are described below.
File header
The structure of the file header is as follows.
•
“Format” followed by the string “Geophysics_PASI_Data_Format_GPD”.
• “GPD_version” followed by a number, indicates the version of the GPD format
with which the file is written. This document describes version 2 of the format.
•
“Creation_date” followed by the file creation date in the format “yyyy-mm-dd”.
• “Last_modification_date” followed by the file last modification date in the format
“yyyy-mm-dd”.
•
“Type” followed by the string “Automatic”, indicates which type of electrical
measurement is contained in the table-format part of the file.
•
“Method” identifies the method with which the table was initially created with
regard to the positions of the electrodes, it is set when the table is created and is not
changed if subsequent manual changes are made to the electrode positions by the
operator. It is followed by one of the following strings depending on the value of the Type
field. For Type corresponding to “Manual”:

o “TOM - Wenner Beta”;
o “TOM - Wenner Gamma”;
o “TOM - Wenner-Schlumberger”;
o “TOM - Dipole-Dipole”;
o “TOM - Pole-Dipole”;
