You cannot change the maximum length of mailbox numbers to a number that is less than the
length of the current mailbox numbers.
•
To change the maximum length of mailbox numbers, you must first change the Mailbox No. Length
Mode to "Flexible" (see 1.9.11.1 Changing the Mailbox No. Length Mode). You cannot set the
maximum length of mailbox number to 6 or more digits when the Mailbox No. Length Mode is
"Fixed".
1.9.11.3 Two-way Recording Save Mode
By default, conversations recorded using the Two-way Recording feature are saved in the subscriber’s mailbox
as old messages. However, it is possible to program the VPS to save these conversations as new messages,
rather than old, by entering a special command using the Commands dialog in the KX-TVA Maintenance
Console.
The Two-way Recording Save Mode setting is applied to a COS; all mailboxes assigned to the same COS will
have the same setting ("old" or "new"). To change the Two-way Recording Save Mode, follow the procedure
below.
1.
After you have started the KX-TVA Maintenance Console and connected to the VPS, select
Utility
in the
menu bar.
2.
Select
Commands

TWRN
" (the quotation marks are not needed), followed by the COS no. and "1" (e.g.,
TWRN 5,1
),
then press
ENTER

Enter "1" after the COS no. to save conversations as new messages, and "0" to save conversations
as old messages (default).

Once the VPS reports that the mode has been changed, disconnect the VPS by clicking
Disconnect

1.9.12 Utility—Software Version
Software Version is used to display the version of main software and DSP software for reference.
Follow the steps below to display the software version:

in the menu bar.

1.9.13 Utility—LAN Settings
The System Administrator can set the IP address and Port Number for the VPS. To program the VPS over
LAN connection or to use E-mail Integration features, the VPS must first be connected to the LAN and
programmed accordingly.
