Delayed send #412 To reserve fax transmission up to 24 hours in advance of the
desired time. Set the original before activating this menu.
Note
• The document will be scanned into memory. The unit
will then send the data at the specified time. You cannot
use this feature for another fax transmission until the
former sending is completed.
• To cancel this setting after programming, press /
STOP while the unit is idle, and then press :

ECM selection #413 To set the Error Correction Mode (ECM). This feature is
available when the sending / receiving fax machines are
ECM compatible. When this feature is activated, fax
transmission / reception will be carried out so that the errors
do not occur.

Connecting tone #416 If you often have trouble when sending faxes, activating this
feature allows you to hear connecting tones: fax tone, ring
back tone and busy tone. You can use these tones to
confirm the status of the other party's machine.
Note
• If the ring back tone continues, the other party's
machine may not be a fax machine or may have run out
of paper. Check with the other party.
• The connecting tone cannot be adjusted individually.

Maximum fax
speed #418 To set the maximum fax speed (14.4 kbps/33.6 kbps). The
fax speed may be lower than the selected speed depending
on your line.

Quick scan mode #419 To enable quick scan mode. When this feature is activated,
the unit will scan the document and store it into memory first,
then the unit will start sending the documents.

Confirming the
destination #420 To confirm the destination before sending a fax. When it is
activated, you can send a fax after confirming the
destination. When the displayed destination is correct, press
/START to send the fax.

Dial keypad entry
restriction #421 If you want to restrict dialling fax numbers manually using
the dial keypad (to avoid misdialling, for example), activate
this feature.
Note
• When this feature is activated,
– you cannot make redial calls to fax numbers entered
using the dial keypad.
– the fax number re-entry setting (feature #422) will be
deactivated.

Fax number re-
entry #422 When this feature is activated, if you dial a fax number
manually using the dial keypad, you have to re-enter the
number and press
/START . When the 2nd entry number
matches the 1st entry number, you can send the fax.
