UPDATING THE SOFTWARE
To keep you up-to-date with the latest developments
in digital television, new features may be made
available to your set-top box in the form of a
software update. These updates are sent to your set-
top box automatically over the cable network.
RECEIVING THE UPDATE INFORMATION
Whenever a software update is available, a
message is sent to your set-top box. When you see
this message, we recommend that you start the
update immediately.
NOTE: This may take up to 15 minutes.
If you do not want to update immediately, you can
either:

set your set-top box to be updated
automatically later on, or
●
refuse the automatic update.
STARTING THE UPDATE IMMEDIATELY
To start the update immediately, press the
OK
button.
As the update is carried out, a progress bar is
displayed. When the update is complete, your set-
top box will then store its new software and start
using it.
IMPORTANT: You must not switch your set-top
box off while it is storing the new software,
regardless of how you start the update.
STARTING THE UPDATE LATER
To set your set-top box to be updated later on,
press the
blue
button.
Nothing will happen until you press the
S
button
to put your set-top box into standby. After that,
the next time you bring your set-top box out of
standby, the update will take place.
REFUSING THE AUTOMATIC UPDATE
If you choose not to update, press
Zurück
. We do,
however, recommend that you carry out a
software update from the
Service Sub-Menu
(see
below) as soon as is conveniently possible, to
make sure you have all the latest features. If you
refuse three times, you will not be asked again
until a further upgrade is available.
NOTE: In some instances, your set-top box may be
updated automatically without giving you the
option to refuse the update.
USING THE MENUS TO UPDATE THE
SOFTWARE
When a software update is available, you can start
it from the menus. Press the
Menü
button to
display the Settings Menu, highlight ‘Service
Menu’ and press
OK
, then highlight ‘Software
update’ and press
OK
.
If there is no update available you will see a
message to tell you.
If there is an update available, follow the on-
screen instructions. Once the update has started,
a progress bar is displayed. When the update is
finished, your set-top box will start up with its
new software.
