Typically, calibration is performed by comparing the PT-100’s readout value
with the known temperature of a medium, and entering the difference as an
offset in the calibration settings.
ORBIS BV factory calibration is carried out as follows:
Step 1. Connect the PT-100 with the calibration cable to the “Fluke 712B”
calibrator.
Step 2. Place the PT-100 in a medium of exactly 0 ºC.
Step 3. Note down the readout value on the “Fluke 712B” on a piece of paper.
(for instance, 0.9 ºC).
Step 4. Place the PT-100 in a medium of exactly -40 ºC.
Step 5. Note down the readout value on the “Fluke 712B” on a piece of paper.
(for instance, 39.8 ºC).
Step 6. Disconnect the PT-100 from the cable and connect it with the Head.
Step 7. Go to the System > Service > PROBE menu of the Head.
Step 8. Either press “Add Point” to add a new calibration point. Do this only
when there are no points already created from a previous calibration.
In case calibration points are already created from a previous calibration, the
existing offset data can be overridden. Since we are only calibrating two points
according to “Orbis BV factory calibration”, remove calibration points if there
are more than two.

Step 9. For the first calibration point, set the “SET VALUE” to 0 ºC. In the “ACT
VALUE” field, enter the readout value from the “Fluke 712B”.
Step 10. For the first calibration point, set the “SET VALUE” to -40 ºC. In the
“ACT VALUE” field, enter the readout value from the “Fluke 712B”.
Step 11. Press “CALIBRATE”. When ready, press “DONE” to exit the menu.
