6.2 System components

The ZINTO A comprises the two basic elements: the

control

unit

and the

battery

.

The former is responsible for the transmission of power, com-
parable with the engine in a car and provides the output volt-
age for the devices connected. In addition, the control unit
monitors and charges the battery.
In the event of a power failure, the battery supplies the UPS
with DC voltage, comparable with a car’s fuel tank.

6.2.1 Control unit

There are five models in the ZINTO A series:

•

ZINTO A 800 and ZINTO A 1000 with internal battery, no

facility for extending the power backup time.

•

ZINTO A 1500 and ZINTO A 2000 control unit, in each

case without internal battery. An external batterypack
(ZINTO A 1500 batterypack, ZINTO A 2000 batterypack) is
necessary for operation. The parallel operation of several
batterypacks extends the power backup time.

•

ZINTO A 3000 with internal battery. Extension of the power

backup time is possible by operating several batterypacks
in parallel.

6.2.1.1 Front of device:

All the UPS models have identical control and indicator pan-
els. The buttons are the controls, the light emitting diodes the
indicators.
