3.3 Replacing the scope unit
The scope unit must be changed to switch the scope’s insertion unit from the 4-mm
type to the 6-mm type.
WARNING
• When replacing the scope unit, choose a location where foreign matter, dust, rain will not get
on it. Never replace the scope unit while your hands are wet. Doing so may cause an electric
shock.
•
Take care so metal objects, dirt, or other foreign matter, or water or other liquid do not get
into the CCU connectors or slits of the base unit or scope unit. Any of these can damage the
instrument.
CAUTION
• Make sure that the power is turned off before replacing the scope unit.
• Do not subject the CCU connector to strong impact. Doing so may damage the CCU
connector.
• Do not touch the electrical contacts of the CCU connector with your hands. Doing so may
cause the instrument to be damaged by static electricity.
• The replacement of the scope unit should always be performed on a flat surface.
• When replacing the scope unit, do not hold it by the bend stopper or scope body.
• Make sure that the tip cap is affixed to the scope tip before replacing the scope unit. Shock or
impact to the tip while the tip cap is not affixed creates the risk of tip damage.

Raise the LCD monitor.

The universal cable can be separated from the notch.

Rotate the latches (two positions) on the scope unit
counterclockwise to unlock them.
