CASY TT Operator‘s Guide
7.3 Message “Concentration too high”
If the message “Concentration too high” is displayed, but there are no cells in the sample try the
following procedures, checking after each step if the problem is resolved:
1
Ensure that only freshly filtered CASY ton is used.
Best use a dispenser equipped with an appropriate filter ( OLS Cat. No. 05 651 751 001).
+
For the 150 μm capillary the recommended pore size is ≤ 0.8 μm.
+
For the 60 μm capillary and the 45 μm capillary the recommended pore size is 0.45 μm.
2
Ensure that measurements are not being executed with distilled water or CASY clean. Use only CASY
ton for measurements.
3
Ensure that no electronic systems causing strong electromagnetic fields or any radiation are located
beside the CASY Instrument.
4
Check if the sample chamber was shielded during the measurement using the protection shield.
5
In case the described steps are not successful, contact your OLS representative for maintenance
service by an OLS service technician.
7.4 Message “Measuring Timeout! – Capillary is possibly
blocked”
During regular use, weekly cleaning procedures with CASY clean are recommended to avoid prob-
lems with blocked capillaries (see section
Maintenance and Care
).
If the message “
Measuring Timeout! – Capillary is possibly blocked
” (PR-7) is displayed often or
even always try the following procedures, checking after each step, if the problem is resolved:
1
Run three consecutive cleaning cycles with filtered CASY ton
2
Check if the correct capillary is selected in the Capillary Selection screen.
3
Make sure that there are no particulate contaminations in the size range of the pore diameter or
above in your samples.
You may think about sieving of your samples if contaminations in this size range cannot be
avoided.
4
+
Replace the sample cup and the storage container holding CASY ton (right-hand cylinder) with
two CASY cups containing distilled water.
+
Run three consecutive cleaning cycles.
+
Repeat these two steps with freshly replaced distilled water in the two CASY cups.
+
Empty the two cups and put them back into their position.
+
Open the
SERVICE MENU
screen and start the
Dry Liquid System
command.
+
Start the
Dry Liquid System
command a second time.
+
Put the storage container with CASY ton back in its position and a CASY cup with freshly filtered
CASY ton under the capillary.
+
Run 3 consecutive cleaning cycles with CASY ton.
