SIGNALS
AUDIBLE AND VISUAL SIGNALS
The facsimile machine emits the following types of audible and visual signals:
- brief (1 second)
indicates that the transaction has been concluded successfully
- long (3 seconds)/the ERROR LED lights up
indicates that the transaction was concluded unsuccessfully. Press LINE STATUS and
STOP at the same time, and check the type of error on the corresponding report (last
transmission/reception)
- blinking (continually)
the handset is off the hook. Hang up and press STOP
- blinking (in intervals)
the HOOK/TALK function has been activated
DISPLAY MESSAGES
The table below shows a list of the messages that may appear on the display, together with their
meaning and the action to be taken to eliminate the problem.
MESSAGE MEANING ACTION
DOC. RECEIVED IN MEMORY
The documents received have been
stored in the memory because there was
an error preventing them from being
printed immediately. Check the type of error (out of
paper or ink, etc.) and correct it.
OUT OF INK
There is no ink in the cartridge. Replace the cartridge.
ADD PAPER There is no paper left. Put some paper in the cassette
and check that the paper
positioning lever is in its lower
position.
CHECK PRINTING QUALITY Some of the nozzles on the print head are
not working and this is having a negative
effect on the print quality. Make a copy of a document: if the
quality is acceptable, press STOP
to momentarily eliminate the
message (which will be displayed
again the next time the cover is
opened or print head is adjusted)
otherwise carry out the manual
nozzle testing procedure
(Maintenance).
CHECK THE DOCUMENT (nn)
There is no document in the ADF, it is
jammed or is over 2 metres long. Insert the document or eliminate
the jam.
REMOTE DIAG. A remote diagnostic session is underway. None.
REMOVE DOCUMENT Scanning of the document was
interrupted. Remove the document and
reposition it correctly.
