Clearing Errors
To clear an error made during the programming phase, simply press the
[C]
key. The error tone ends, the display clears and the keypad unlocks.
If the message "SEC Code" is displayed, this means that a Z mode
security password was programmed. Enter the 4-digit code followed by
the
[Amt Tend/TOTAL]
key to continue.
In case an error condition cannot be cleared, perform one of the two
general clearance methods explained in the section entitled General
Clearance.
Remember that the second general clearance sets all
counters and totals to zero, and cancels all features programmed.
The Clerk System
The Clerk System is a special security feature that enables you to
control access to the cash register and monitor the number of transactions
and the sales of up to 8 Clerks.
Your cash register is configured at the factory with the Clerk System
deactivated. You can activate the Clerk System for a degree of protection
and sales monitoring or deactivate it again so that the cash register can be
used freely without restrictions.
NOTE: If the Clerk System is deactivated, you can use the cash register
without needing to enter a Clerk number nor its related 3-digit
security code. In this case the display shows the number "1" as
the identification of Clerk 1 and prints the number "1" as the clerk
number on all receipts, journals and reports. All sales will be
recorded to Clerk 1 and therefore the Clerk Report will only
report the sales of this Clerk.
With the Clerk System activated you need to define the degree of Clerk
security by proceeding with one or both of the following operations in order
to be able to use the cash register and record the sales of individual clerks:
•
program the cash register to accept the entry of a Clerk number (from
1 to 8) only;
•
program the cash register to accept the entry of a clerk number and its
associated three-digit code.
Activating the Clerk System
1. Open the printer compartment and slide the control switch to the PRG
position.
2. Type
[44444]
followed by
[1]
and then press the
[Amt Tend/Total]
key.
3. Program the cash register's Clerk Security feature as explained in the
next section.
Programming Clerk Security
Once you have activated the cash register's Clerk System, to be able to
use the cash register and record the sales to a specific clerk you need to
program it to accept either the entry of a Clerk identification number only
(from 1 to 8) or the entry of a Clerk identification number and its
associated three-digit secret code (cash register default setting).
1. With the control switch in the PRG position, type
[11]
to switch the
cash register to the Clerk Security setting mode.
2. Type
[0]
to program the cash register to recognize a Clerk
identification number of 1 to 8 only, or type
[1]
to program the cash
register to recognize a clerk identification number followed by its
associated three-digit security code (cash register default setting).
3. Press the
[RA/ ]
key to confirm your choice.
NOTE: If you chose Clerk Security setting mode option
1
, associate a
secret code to one or all of the clerk numbers available as
explained in the next section.
