Starter Unit
WARNING: The coil spring is under
tension and could fly apart causing
s e r i o u s i n j u r i e s . N e v e r t r y t o
disassemble or modify it.
Engine
Clean the cylinder fins with compressed air or a
brush periodically. Dangerous overheating of
engine may occur due to impurities on the
cylinder.
WARNING: Never run the machine
without all the parts, including the
starting housing, securely in place.
Spark Plug
This engine uses a Champion N11YC - LD F7RTC
with 0.7-0.8 mm electrode gap (
Fig. 49
). Use an
exact replacement.
Use only resistor type spark plugs of the
approved range.
Factors such as:
- dirty air filter;
- unfavourable running conditions, e.g.
operating at part load; may result in rapid
deterioration of the spark plug.
Muffler
WARNING: Do not operate your snow
thrower if the muffler is damaged,
missing or modified. An improperly
maintained muffler will increase the risk
of fire and hearing loss.
Oil Change
Drain the oil while the engine is still warm to
assure rapid and complete draining.
1. Place a suitable container below the engine
to catch the used oil and then remove the
tank cap (A, Fig. 29) and the drain plug
(B, Fig.50).
2. Allow the used oil to drain completely and
then reinstall the drain plug (B) and tighten it
securely.
3. Refill with the recommended oil (see
page 32) and check the oil level (
Fig. 29
).
4. Install the oil filler cap.
If any oil is spilled, make sure to wipe it.
Wash your hands with soap and water after
handling used oil.
NOTE: Please dispose of used motor oil in a
m a n n e r t h a t i s co m p a t i b l e w i t h t h e
environment. We suggest you take it in a
sealed container to your local service station
for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash,
pour it on the ground, or down a drain.
Lubrication Cutter
Enter the fat with a syringe in the nipple
(Fig.51).
Adjusting the control cables
If the wheel drive or cutter no longer engages
when the engine is running, the control cable
must be adjusted.
WARNING:
-
Switch off the engine before adjusting the
control cables.
-
If the wheel drive or cutter mechanism
cannot be disengaged, switch off the
engine. Do not attempt repair, but contact
a qualifi ed workshop.
1. Loosen the lock nut (1, Fig.52).
2. Turn the adjustment on the control cables in
the direction of the arrow (2) until the
control cable does not sag (i.e. is somewhat
taut) when the lever is pressed. Hold the
cable while tightening so that it does not
twist.
3. Tighten the lock nut.
4. Check the adjustment by starting the engine
and engaging the wheel drive or cutter.
5. If the wheel drive or the cutter still does not
engage and disengage properly, have the
machine repaired by a Servicing Dealer.
Replacing the shear pins
If the cutter is blocked, the shear pins (1, Fig,.32)
may break in order to ensure safe operation.
