Switch off the hand-held meter

Display illumination
If a key is not pressed for two minutes, the hand-held meter reduces display brightness to protect
battery life. The illumination switches back on the next time any key is pressed.

If a key is not pressed for five minutes, the hand-held meter switches off automatically.

The device can be switched on or off manually at any time using

[ON/OFF].

Calibration

Why is calibration necessary?

Because sensors age and change their behaviour. This leads to imprecise measurements. Cali-
bration continuously updates the internal behaviour parameters. Precise calibration as per the
directives is important. Aged or mixed calibration solution or unstable measured values cali-
brate a sensor wrongly, which makes subsequent measurements faulty.

When should calibration be done?

When analysing water with very large, different ionic strengths

The calibration interval of 30 days has expired.

As the need to calibrate a sensor depends on a number of conditions, the user is reminded to re-
calibrate by the text “Calibrate sensor” flashing 3 x in the main menu after switching on 30
days after the last calibration of the µdox hand-held meter.

This display is only intended as a note and reminder.
