Changing the Appearance of the Menu
<Menu setting>
Default Menu mode: Normal, Icon setting: Pattern
You can switch the menu display modes, and also set images to customize nine icons
displayed in the Normal mode menu.
Example: Setting an image as the icon for i-mode

From the Menu, select [Settings] → [Display] → [Menu setting] and press .

[Menu mode] : Switch the menu display mode (P.30).
[Icon setting] : Set the icons to be displayed in the Normal mode menu display
(P.30).

Select a display mode at [Menu mode].
[Normal] : Display the Normal mode menu.
[Simple] : Display the Simple mode menu, which lists frequently used functions.

Select [Icon setting] and press .
The Icon setting display appears.

Select an image from My picture of the Data Box at [i-mode].
 You can set the following files.
Category File format File size Image size
My picture GIF/JPEG Max. 500K bytes Max. [VGA(640 × 480)]

An image exceeding 40 × 36 dots in image size is displayed in reduced size.
To display the icon of the Menu pattern
Select [Pattern].
To check the image
Move the cursor to the image and press (Play).
● If you set a GIF animation as an icon, the image in the first frame is displayed.
Using the Menu Pattern
<Menu pattern>
Default Main body color “Romantic Gold”: Romantic Gold, Main body color “Aqua White”: Aqua White,
Main body color “Misty Black”: Misty Black
Using the Menu pattern, you can change the images for the stand-by display, menu
icons, and task icons all at once. Animations, which appear in the sub-display when you
receive a voice/videophone call or mail, also change in synchronization with the Menu
pattern. Extra menu patterns are available by downloading them from “SO@Planet”
(P.158).

You cannot delete preinstalled menu patterns.
Example: Setting a menu pattern preinstalled at the time of purchase

From the Menu, select [Settings]
→
[Display]
→
[Menu pattern] and press .
The Menu pattern display appears.
[Download] : Set a menu pattern downloaded from the site.
[Preinstall] : Set a menu pattern preinstalled at the time of purchase.
