When an i-

ppli software launch specification is
displayed on an i-mode site, this setting allows the
software to be launched from the site.
● This function cannot be used with some sites.

You can launch an i-
α
ppli from various functions
such as Infrared data exchange function, Bar code
reader, IC card function or ToruCa.
■ Infrared data exchange function
When the FOMA terminal received the i-
α
ppli
launching signal while Infrared data exchange, i-
α
ppli
software launches.
■
Bar code reader
When the data scanned by the Bar code reader
contains an i-
α
ppli software launch specification,
you can launch the software from the Bar code
reader.
■
IC card function
You can launch the software by holding the FeliCa
mark on the FOMA terminal over the reader/writer
unit.
■ ToruCa
When an i-
α
ppli software launch specification is
pasted into an acquired ToruCa, you can launch
the software from ToruCa.

Setting the i-
α
ppli Standby Screen
You can set a selected i-
α
ppli software as the
standby screen on your FOMA terminal. When the
i-
α
ppli standby screen is displayed, the “ ” or “ ”
icon appears at the bottom of the screen.
● Some software applications cannot be set as the
standby screen.

You can activate the software application set as the

ppli standby screen.

bottom of the screen changes to a flashing “ ” or
“ ” icon.

You can perform the following operations by pressing

Unlike ordinary i-
α
ppli, some i-
α
ppli software is immediately
launched from an i-mode site.
・ These i-
α
ppli are not stored on the FOMA terminal after
downloading from i-mode sites, and do not appear in the
software list screen either.
・ A message may appear after the software is activated to
ask whether to use the FOMA terminal’s communication
functions.
・ After the software quits, a message may appear asking
whether to store the software.
・ Some i-
α
ppli software cannot be stored on a FOMA terminal.

If multiple data items are pasted into the mail, the pasted data
itself may not be displayed.
z
The i-
α
ppli launch specification cannot be quoted even when
you reply with a quote or forward the i-mode mail. You cannot
quote a launch specification of an i-
α
ppli by forwarding mail
using the Infrared data exchange function or DoCoMo keitai
datalink (P.356), etc.

The software is not launched in the following cases:
・ During a call
・ When the software you want to launch cannot be found

Only 1 i-
α
ppli can be set as the i-
α
ppli standby screen.
z
The “ ” icon is displayed for software set in the standby
screen.
z
If software that communicates is set as the standby screen, it
may not run correctly when problems such as poor signal
quality occur.
z
If you select “OFF” for “Stand-by net” in “Software setting”,
note that you may not be able to receive timely information.
z
When an i-
α
ppli standby screen is set, the image set for the
“Stand-by display” in “Display setting” is not displayed.
z
If you turn the FOMA terminal off and then on again while you
are setting an i-
α
ppli standby screen, a message appears
asking whether to launch the i-
α
ppli standby screen.
z
If you set “Dial lock” or “Original lock” while the i-
α
ppli standby
screen is displayed, the i-
α
ppli standby screen quits.
