8. PTZ MODE
Multiplexers NV-DVR1600 and NV-DVR1600CD feature up to 16 PTZ cameras control.
Port RS-485 is utilized for PTZ control. For PTZ control following interface can be used: Multiplexer
front panel buttons, IR Remote Control, Internet Explorer web browser as well as Multi Viewer
software. For proper PTZ cameras control each camera should have unique address.
Multiplexer provides a large number of control protocols. Inter alia Pelco-D protocols (for Novus and
Pelco cameras) , LG, Lilin, Samsung.
Warning: Identical protocol and transmission speed must be set for all PTZ cameras in the
system (review PTZ cameras user’s manual for more information).
The following description applies to connection of Novus and Pelco cameras. To connect cameras
of other manufacturers contact Technical Dpt. and familiarize with specific camera user’s manual.
8.1 Novus and Pelco speed dome cameras controlling.
The speed dome cameras are connected in a “cascade” method utilizing UTP cable 5 cat.. Cameras are
connected to telemetry port indicated as
RS-485 / Port B . The maximum length of the main line can not
exceed 1200m.
The telemetry junction type is a 3 screw joint. The junction can be removed from the socket for
convenient connection. The joints should be connected with the cameras in the following way:

- connect with RX + / D+ of the camera

- connect with RX - / D– of the camera
