Service Setup Menu

Enables or disables the transmission of rate of turn data.

Settings:

on

(option checked)

The output transmits the rate of turn from the
active gyro source, using the $--ROT sentence.
The talker ID will be the same as received from
the respective source.
If the source uses the PLATH format, the talker
ID will be “TI”.

off

(option unchecked)

The output does not transmit rate of turn data.

GAS

Configures the NAVITWIN IV as part of a grounding avoidance system
(GAS) according to DNV.

GAS ON

Enables or disables the GAS functionality.

Settings:

on

(option checked):

The GAS functionality is enabled.
In case of failure of the active gyro, a substitute head-
ing is transmitted to the track controller or INS.

off

(option unchecked):

The GAS functionality is disabled.

For details of the GAS functionality, refer to Chapter 3,
“Grounding Avoidance System (GAS)”.

MAX. HDG DIFF (Maximum Heading Difference)

Sets the maximum allowable heading difference at which GAS
heading substitution may take place.

Settings:

0 – 99°

TIME CONSTANT

Sets the rate at which an existing difference between the last
known heading from the active source and the actual heading
from the secondary source is gradually reduced after GAS head-
ing substitution has been triggered.

Settings:

0 – 99°/min.
