2.8 Optional Functions
The following functions may be available if the system is equipped with
the respective external controls and configured accordingly.
Muting Alarms Remotely
On alarm, actuate the mute control at the remote device (e.g. an alarm
panel or a central alarm management system). The audible alarm is
muted.
Resetting/Acknowledging a Central Watch Alarm
If connected to a central watch alarm facility ('dead man alarm'), the
NAVITWIN IV will automatically reset the watch alarm timer whenever a
key is pressed on the unit.
Should a watch alarm be given, pressing any key at the NAVITWIN IV
will acknowledge the alarm and reset the watch alarm timer.
Reversing the Heading Display (180° offset)
To reverse the heading display, e.g. for operation on double-ended fer-
ries, activate the 180° offset function at the associated external control.
External Dimming
With external dim keys
Actuate the external
DIM+/DIM-
keys to increase or decrease the illumina-
tion brightness.
External
DIM+/DIM-
push buttons operate in parallel with the built in
DIM+/DIM-
keys. If only an external
DIM+
button is installed, it will cycle
through the illumination brightness levels, starting over at the lowest
level after reaching the highest one.
With serial data dim commands
Adjust the brightness via the central dimming facility to alter the
NAVITWIN IV‘s local illumination brightness setting.
The NAVITWIN IV may be configured to apply an offset to the com-
manded brightness level, to achieve uniform brightness for all serially
dimmed devices at a given location.
Note A remotely muted alarm remains in the pending (unacknowledged) state.
The alarm is indicated as pending in the alarm window until the alarm is
acknowledged locally at the NAVITWIN IV or the cause of the alarm is
eliminated.
