Preparing a Group List
Preparing a Group List is just like setting up a new mailbox. A Group List is
assigned a number and name. The leading digit for Group Lists was assigned during
installation and can be changed at a later date if necessary. The next two digits are
assigned automatically by Norstar Voice Mail when you add the Group List. The
Group List numbers are assigned in sequential order. You must assign the Group
List name.
A Group List is set up using Feature Code 983. The following diagram provides a
high level view of the programing steps necessary to create a Group List.

Norstar Voice Mail allows 99 Group Lists. Each Group List can contain a
maximum of 1,000 mailboxes. Before you begin to add Group Lists, you must
prepare a group mailbox member list. This list should contain:
• leading digit – assigned during installation (see "Group List Numbers" on
page 100)
• Group List name – maximum 16 characters long
• mailbox numbers – to be included in the group
A mailbox must be initialized before it can be added to a Group List.
When a Group List is established, you can change the mailboxes included in the list,
record a new list name, view the Group List, or delete the Group List.
