Lower Control Housing Installation
1. Install the gasket (15) onto the lower control housing (16). The side of
the gasket with the silver markings must face up. Make sure the holes
in the gasket are aligned perfectly with the holes in the housing.
2. Press the control housing (12) with the retaining ring facing up over the
studs (8) and onto the lower control housing.
3. Install the cover (9) onto the control housing. The groove in the cover
for the retaining ring must be facing down.
4. Install four washers (7) on the studs (8).
5. Screw the four extensions (6) onto the studs with a wrench. Tighten the
extensions in a criss-cross pattern evenly to 25 N
S
m (18.4 ft. lb.).
Upper Control Housing Installation
1. Place the gasket (14) on the lower control housing (16).
2. Install the control plate (13) on the lower control housing (16), then
install the upper control housing (3) on the lower housing, making sure
the threaded portions of the extensions (6) project through the top of the
muffler housing.
3. Install the four washers (2) and cap nuts (1) on the extensions, then
tighten the nuts in a criss-cross pattern.
