Air Motor / Hydraulic Section Separation
1. Remove the six cap nuts (27), nuts (26), and washers (25) from the tie
rods (24).
2. Place large flat-bladed screwdrivers in the groove on each side of the
flange (41) and pry down on the flange.
3. Remove the pressure cylinder (32), including the spring (28) and
counter ring (29), from the middle housing (12).
4. Remove four tie rods (24) from the air motor. Leave two tie rods in
place to support the middle housing (12).
5. Place heavy flat-bladed screwdrivers in the groove between the middle
housing (12) and the solvent chamber (3) and pry them apart.
6. Pull the middle housing off the plunger (14).
7. Uncouple the plunger and remove it and the solvent chamber from the
air motor.
8. Pull the plunger out of the solvent chamber.
Hydraulic Section Disassembly
1. Remove the spring (10) from the middle housing (12).
2. Use a screwdriver to pry the gaskets (11, 13) out of the middle housing.
3. Remove the upper packing assembly (7, 8, 9) from the solvent chamber.
NOTE:
There is no need to remove the gland nut (6) from the solvent
chamber unless it is damaged. If removed, apply threadlock adhesive to
the gland nut threads before re-installing.
4. Remove the spring (28) and lower packing assembly (29, 30, 31) from
the pressure housing (32).
Siphon Ball Check Disassembly
1. Clamp the flats of the inlet coupler (38) in a bench vise.
2. Use a wrench on the flats of the pressure cylinder to loosen it, then
remove the coupler from the vise and unscrew it from the pressure
cylinder.
3. Remove the ball seat (37), gasket (36), and ball (35) from the pressure
cylinder.
4. Inspect the pin (33). If it is bent or broken, it must be replaced. To
replace the pin, heat the set screw (34) to soften the threadlock
adhesive, then remove the set screw with a hex wrench.
Pressure Ball Check Disassembly
1. Clamp the plunger (14) flats into a bench vise, bottom up.
2. Use a hex wrench to remove the screw (20) from the bottom of the
plunger.
3. Remove the valve seat (19), gasket (18), and ball (17).
4. Remove the retaining ring (16) with retaining ring pliers, then remove the
ring (15) and retaining pin (23).
