Upper Control Housing Removal
1. Remove the four cap nuts (1) and washers (2).
2. Remove the upper control housing (3) and mufflers.
3. Remove the control plate (13) from the lower control housing (16).
4. Remove the gasket (14) from the lower control housing.
Control Housing Removal
1. Unscrew the four extensions and washers (6, 7) from the studs (8).
2. Remove the cover (9) from the control housing (12).
3. Remove the control housing and gasket (15) from the lower control
housing (16).
Control Cylinder Removal
1. Remove the retaining ring (10) from the control housing (12).
2. Use an appropriately sized punch to tap the control cylinder (11) out of
the control housing.
CAUTION:
To avoid damaging the control cylinder, do not pull it out of the
housing with pliers.
3. Remove the four O-rings (36) from the control cylinder (11).
4. Use two open-end wrenches to remove the two nuts (4) from the control
piston (5).
5. Remove the control piston (5).
Toggle Assembly Removal
NOTE:
The exploded view only shows one of the two toggle assemblies.
Remove both.
1. Remove the retaining screws (21) with a socket wrench.
2. Remove the toggle springs (20).
3. Use pliers to remove the toggles (18) and toggle bearings (19). Remove
the spring retainers (17) if necessary.
4. Remove the screws (42), washers (41), and cover plate (40) from the
upper control plate (16).
