NTRODUCTION

1.1 Welcome

Congratulations on your new Starlight Fun Center mobile entertainment unit brought to you

by Starlight Children’s Foundation.

For more than 20 years, Starlight has partnered with Nintendo of America to bring the

Starlight Fun Center unit to facilities in the U.S. and Canada. We are proud of this legacy and

hope you will enjoy this mobile entertainment unit.

This Fun Center unit contains a TV, a Wii U™ console, a Wii U GamePad, a Wii Remote™ Plus,

and a Nunchuk™. It rolls bedside – or almost anywhere – to provide physical therapy

activities, distractive entertainment, or just some much-needed play time during a child’s

healing process.

The enhanced capabilities of the new Fun Center unit, powered by the Wii U from Nintendo,

include:

• Wii U GamePad

—The one-of-a-kind controller only for the Wii U.

Struggling to see the TV screen from the bedside? Many games and video apps.

are playable using just the screen on the Wii U GamePad!

Is it quiet time? Plug your headphones directly into the Wii U GamePad to enjoy all

the excitement without disturbing those around you.

Each Fun Center unit comes with 25 pre-installed games and plenty of hard drive

space for additional games.

Have a favorite game at home? Bring your own game discs and play them on this

Fun Center unit! The Nintendo Wii U can play both Wii U and Wii Game Discs.

Video-On-Demand. Tired of throwing away damaged DVDs or losing them

altogether? Patients can now use their own Netflix, huluPLUS, or amazon instant

video accounts to watch movies and shows!

Replacing a controller can now be done without opening your Fun Center unit, and

it only takes about 5 minutes!

Starlight Fun Center units play an important role in the overall health and well-being of

pediatric patients. Nurses, physicians, and child-life specialists report that Fun Center units:
