5.4 Tracer Utility cannot be Connected

5.4.1 When RS-232C cable is connected

A USB cable or RS-232C cable is used as the communication cable between the LT-980
and PC.
Troubleshooting differs depending on which cable is connected.

Is a USB cable connected as the communication
cable?

Yes

5.4.2 When USB cable is connected (p30)

5.4.1 When RS-232C cable is connected (p29)

Turn off the power switch.

Are there any breaks in the RS-232C cable (42168-
E011)?

Yes

Replace the RS-232C cable (42168-E011).

Confirm the setting of Tracer Utility (refer to the
service manual for the LETR-1).

Remove the top cover ASSY (44801-2000)

(see

6.1 [p31])

Are there any breaks in the cable ASSY (44801-
CA04)

(see 9.3 [p69] and 9.4 [p70])

Yes

Replace the cable ASSY (44801-CA04).
