System Board Removal
Remove the system board as follows.
Before removing the system cover, turn off the power and unplug the
system power cable. Power is removed only when the power cable is unplugged.
1.
Turn off the system and unplug the AC power cord.
2.
Unplug and disconnect any attached peripherals.
3.
Remove the following components:
!
system cover (see “System Cover Removal”).
!
diskette drive (see “Diskette Drive Removal”)
!
riser board bracket (see “Expansion Board Removal”).
4.
Lift the 5 1/4-inch device bracket up enough to unplug the CD-ROM drive cables, then
continue lifting the bracket to its vertical position (see “5 1/4-Inch Device Removal” earlier
in this section).
5.
Tag and unplug all cables from the system board.
6.
Remove the following screws (see the following figure):

) holding the back panel to the chassis
!
screw (
B
) holding the system board to the base of the chassis
!
screws (
C
) holding the system board to the base of the back panel
!
screw (
D
) holding together the back panel and the right side of the chassis.
