Repair 5-11

5 1/4-Inch Device Removal

Use the following steps to remove a 5 1/4-inch device from the system unit:

1.

Remove the system unit cover and front panel as previously described.

2.

Label and unplug all signal and power cables from the 5 1/4-inch device to be
removed. If the device is a CD-ROM reader and the system is equipped with
audio, also unplug the audio cable from the CD-ROM reader.

3.

At the front of the chassis, press the locking tabs on either side of the device
toward each other. This frees the tabs from the brackets on the chassis.
