The SMTP proxy is responsible for email distribution and e-mail virus-checking. In the

you configure the SMTP proxy, including the optional e-mail virus scanner.
The SMTP proxy acts as an email relay; it accepts e-mail for your internet domains and passes them on
to your internal e-mail distribution system (e.g., a Microsoft Exchange Server).
E-Mails are transparently scanned for known viruses and other harmful content. The SMTP proxy also
acts as a gateway for outgoing mail.
