Message: SYNTAX ERROR: Invalid server name: Enter a valid name for this network definition.
IE: "Berlin Office" or "All Mail". Submitted value: """".
Meaning: You entered an invalid network name at Definitions|Services.
Action: Enter a network name in the correct syntax and click Add.
Message: Network group "Private Networks - RFC1918" is predefined and cannot be changed.
Meaning: This is an MS IE message indicating that you have tried to set a rule for a network group that
cannot be redefined (i.e., from Packet filter|Rules).
Action: Click OK and continue operation.
Message: ERROR The parameter "Local interface:" must contain a host.
Meaning: At VPN|IPSec Configuration you did not enter a host name in the Local interface field before
clicking Add.
Action: Enter a valid host name in the Local interface field before clicking Add.
Message: ERROR The parameter "Remote IP:" must contain a host.
Meaning: At VPN|IPSec Configuration you did not enter a remote IP address in the Remote IP address
field before clicking Add.
Action: Enter a valid remote IP address in the Remote IP: field before clicking Add.
Message: ERROR Parameter "Secret:" must contain an entry. This entry should consist of
alphanumerical symbols, as well as "-" and "_" .
Meaning: At VPN|IPSec Configuration you selected Secret as the Authentication method, but you did not
type in a Secret in the Secret: field.
Action: Enter one or more valid characters in the Secret: entry field, then click Save. Valid characters
include alpha, numeric, dash (-) or underscore (_) characters.
Message: ERROR Parameter "SPIBASE" must contain hexadecimal value.
Meaning: At VPN|IPSec Configurations you typed an incorrect entry in the SPIBASE entry field.
Action: Type a valid hexadecimal entry in the SPIBASE entry field, then click Save.
Message: ERROR - DNS resolution. Firewall could not resolve hostnames. Please type in correct
hostname or IP address.
Meaning: At the Network|Tools menu (e.g., Network|Tools|Ping) you entered an incorrect hostname or
IP address.
Action: Click the browser's Back button or equivalent button, and re-enter the hostname or IP address
correctly.
Message: ERROR: No ICMP type chosen
Error Header: $error_header{0}
Meaning: At Definitions|Services you did not select the ICMP type parameter.
Action: Select the ICMP type (e.g., echo reply, echo request, exceeded, time to live, etc.).
Message: ERROR: No SPI found:
Error Header: $error_header{1}
Meaning: With Perfect Secret Forwarding enabled and manual Secure Association selected, the New
connection menu is re-displayed with Manual SA entry fields, requiring SPI and ESP information for
manual keying.
Action: Enter an SPI in VPN|IPSEC Configurations. The SPI is a unique identifier in the SA that allows
the receiving computer to select the SA under which a packet will be processed.
