6.4 Configuring trailer mode
If using cameras to view areas behind the vehicle or the trailer (reversing came-
ra), the “Trailer” function can be configured. This mode is recommended for all
kinds of trailer, yoke and articulated vehicles where the trailer is frequently cou-
pled and decoupled and therefore the area to be monitored behind the vehicle
changes. The aim is to display the camera image required automatically.
The camera for the traction unit is permanently connected to the IN-1 video in-
put. The trailer camera is assigned to video input IN-2.
Motec provides special system cables for connecting the trailer camera to the
tractor unit. These contain additional control lines to detect whether the trailer is
coupled.
SEL-22 or SEL-23, depending on the cable set installed, needs to be selected
via the on-screen menu (see also chapter “Application examples”).
