Programming Device Description Menu on STZ with HART
Communicator handheld devices
To program your STZ
, your HART communicator must be equipped with the Device Description
for your instrument. Please follow the steps below to configure instrument. Refer to Figure 4.1
for an outline of menu options.
Online Menu
The
Online
menu displays the current process value of your application, the lower and upper
range values and the actual output current. Use the
Device Setup
menu to configure the STZ as
detailed in the rest of this section.
Note:
In the following configuration information, all default values are shown in [ ] for example
Filter [60Hz].
Note:
When making changes or updates within menus you will notice the menu item is
highlighted and an asterisk ( * ) appears in front of the menu item changed/updated. This
indicates that a change/update was made yet not updated on the unit itself. To insure that
changes/updates are implemented, you must hit the SEND button to refresh and update the
STZ unit. Hitting the HOME button or the BACK arrow will cancel the desired change/update.
Note:
If you cannot communicate with the STZ or cannot update the configuration of the STZ,
its HART mode may be set to Read Only or Disable. You will need to check the HART mode
using the FDT/DTM and USB cable (see Section 5 for details)
