6 Operation
1) To prevent switching noise, always switch
on all other units of the PA system before
switching on the amplifier .
2) Before switching on the amplifier for the
first time, set all volume controls INPUT (3)
to zero to make sure that the initial vol-
ume is not too high . Then switch on the
amplifier with the POWER switch (4) . The
switch lights up as a power indication .
3) Control the outputs of the signal sources
(e . g . mixer, preamplifier) to the rated level
(0 dB) or to the highest signal level with-
out distortion .
4) Turn up the control INPUT (3) of the
channels used to the maximum volume
desired . Set the controls of all channels
that are not used to zero .
If one of the red LEDs CLIP (1) briefly
lights up, you have reached the highest
possible volume . If the LED briefly lights
up more frequently, there is overload of
at least one channel of a channel pair .
In this case, slightly turn back the corre-
sponding control .
5) Each channel can be muted separately,
e . g . when background music interferes
with an nouncements . Press the corre-
sponding button MUTE (2) .
7 Protective Circuit
Each channel pair of the amplifier is equipped
with a protective circuit against short circuit,
overload and overheating . When the pro-
tective circuit has been activated, the cor-
responding LED PROT (1) lights up and the
channel pair is muted:
1 . shortly after switching on (switch-on
delay)
2 .´ shortly after switching off
3 . in case of overload or short circuit at the
outputs
4 . in case of overheating of the amplifier
If one of the LEDs PROT lights up during
operation or if it is not extinguished after
switching on, switch off the amplifier and
eliminate the fault .
