About the LE 4-505-BS1

Applications

The LE 4-505-BS1 is a local expansion for a Moeller 
expandable PLC (controller) such as the 
PS 4-201-MM1 or PS 4-341-MM1. It is used to 
connect the controller to actuators and sensors which 
are fitted with an AS Interface (ASi). In the AS Interface 
system, both the data and the power feed for the 
actuators and sensors are transferred through the 
same two-core cable. The two-core cable system can 
be used to install complex ASi network structures.

The ASi network system is particularly suitable for:

Mainly binary signals;

Actuators and sensors which are distributed 
throughout the plant and installed close to the 
machines;

Actuators and sensors with a low amount of I/O 
information;

Installations which require a high intrinsic 
protection class.
