Checking status and
diagnostic messages in
the user program Status and diagnostics Information is also available
in the user program in the PS 4-201-MM1. According
to requirements, the program can interrogate general
or more detailed status information as follows:
General status check:
The diagnosis status byte of the PS 4-201-MM1
contains general information on the status of the
local expansions and remote devices (ASi slaves).
The structure of the diagnostics status byte is as
follows:
Detailed information on checking and the structure of
the diagnostics status byte is contained in the
manual “Hardware and Engineering,
Error message Meaning Remedy
No connection Faulty connection No connection to a remote device. Proceed as
follows:
– Check the power feed and cable connections
to the device.
– Check whether the device has the correct I/O
and ID codes. Replace faulty devices as
necessary.
The network diagnostics display is updated
automatically after remedying the fault. It is not
necessary to reset the CPU’s diagnostic status.
Unexpected type Incorrect I/O or ID code Wrong device type. The I/O code and/or ID Code
of the device at the specified address does not
match the profile in the permanent configuration.
Check the device for correct I/O and ID Code.
The network diagnostics display is updated
automatically after remedying the fault. It is not
necessary to reset the CPU’s diagnostic status.
