13. Fine Tuning the Transmitter
a) Setting the Digital Steering Trim
Digital trimming enables you to precisely adjust the central position of the steering
servo. Thus you can set your model to drive absolutely straight. To do this, drive your
model car on a smooth and even surface and do not make any steering movements.
With the "ST.TRIM" rocker button (see fig 103) you can now set the trim (fig 104a), so
that the model drives in a straight line. If necessary (if the trim travel happens to be so
large), then the steering linkages should be adjusted appropriately.
Our tip:
Your model car drives perfectly straight when you set a slight toe-in. To
do so, adjust the steering linkages so that both front wheels steer slightly
inward.
b) Setting the Digital Driving Trim
In the same way as is possible for digital steering trimming, you can adjust the neutral
or stop position for the drive function control lever electronically.
In doing so, it does not play a role whether you insert a servo in your model that
operates the carburettor of a combustion engine or a mechanical speed regulator or
whether you use an electronic speed regulator. The setting of the digital drive trim is
always the same.
With the "TH.TRIM" rocker button (see fig 105) you should now set the trim (fig 104b),
so that an electric motor is always reliably switched off and/or a combustion engine
runs smoothly in idle.
