Appendix F AWS Short CAN-B Cable
F.1 AWS Short CAN-B Cable
The AWS connects to the OBD II wires in the vehicle via the AWS Short
CAN-B Cable".
The "AWS Short CAN-B Cable" is a means to connect the AWS to the
vehicle’s OBD II Connector, CAN High and CAN Low wires.
The main purpose we connect the AWS to the Vehicle OBD II Connector
CAN wires is to assist in retrieving the Vehicle Speed and shortening
installation time directly from the vehicle’s digital interface.
The following connections need to be performed in order to connect the
AWS 4000 to the Vehicle’s OBD II CAN wires:
NOTE : Wires’ colors are not guaranteed. Always refer to the wires’ labels.
1. Locate the Vehicle’s OBD II Connector and CAN wires (CAN High,
CAN Low)
2. Connect the CAN High (White wire) and CAN Low (Yellow wire)
wires of the "AWS Short CAN-B Cable" to the parallel wires in the
Vehicle (usually Pin 6 is CAN High and Pin 14 is CAN Low).
3. Connect the Ground (GND-) wire (Black wire) of the "AWS Short
CAN-B Cable" to a Ground source in the vehicle (Pin 4 and/or 5
are GND in the OBD II Connector).
4. Connect the 4 pin Molex Connector end of the "AWS Short CAN-B
Cable" to the Black wire labeled “CAN- B” from the SeeQ Cable
(camera cable). Please do not mix up with the second Black wire
labeled “485/232”.
5. Connect all other system components as Usual.
