The following paragraphs describe in detail the function of the cables
and connections shown above.
2.1.11. Vision Sensor Unit Connector Cable (CAB000065)
The vision sensor unit contains the camera and the main processor
(EyeQ®) of the AWS®. It is attached to the vehicle’s front windshield by a
windshield mount provided with the system.
The VSU is connected to the rest of the system with the VSU Connector
cable which has five connectors as shown in Table
2-1.

2.1.12. MLD Connection Cable (CAB000042)
The Display and Control Unit (referred to as MLD ) is attached to the
vehicle’s windshield or dashboard, and provides the visual warnings and
system status, and includes six control buttons for system
configuration.
The MLD connects to the VSU via the CAN-A connector (communication
via CAN protocol). These connectors are described in Table
2-2.
