2.1.17. AWS Short CAN-B Connector Cable (without and with
Repeater)
The Short CAN-B Connector Cable connects to the vehicle's CAN
interface in order to retrieve the digital Speed Signal (and if available
through CAN, other required vehicle signals).
The cable’s 3 wires (CAN High, CAN Low, GND) connect on one side to
the vehicles CAN High, CAN Low and GND wires (from OBD II or J1939)
and on the other side to the VSU Cable labeled CAN-B (Black).
If the AWS Short CAN-B Connector cable with Repeater is used then one
of the two additional white wires connects to the VSU cable labeled “Car
Adapter PWR” (White – P1). This cable is available only on demand.
The option to connect the AWS to the vehicle's CAN interface is only
available in the AWS-4000 D (digital) units.
