Turning the printer on and off
CAUTION
Improper handling may result in damage to the machine!
➜ Never turn the printer off while a print job is in progress that is receiving
data from the computer (the control light on the control panel will be
flashing) or if the printer is being reset.
➜ Turn the power switch to I (On) to
turn the printer on
After about 60 seconds, the display
shows READY. The printer is ready
for operation.
➜ Turn the power switch to 0 (Off) to
turn the printer off.

It goes without saying you should save energy.
After the printer has not received a print command for a certain amount
of time, it automatically switches into POWER SAVE mode. This time
period can be adjusted on the control panel, see page 5-7.
If the printer receives a new print job while it is in power save mode, if
the side cover is opened, or if the [ON LINE] key is pressed, the printer
automatically switches into warm-up phase.
