MAINTENANCE AND SPARE PARTS

MAINTENANCE

The CompuScale III requires no maintenance. However, a program of periodic preventative maintenance
should be initiated. This should include regular inspection, general cleaning and good housekeeping practices.

Enclosures and printed circuit boards should be cleaned only when the power is disconnected at the main
breaker. The use of a vacuum cleaner to remove foreign material dislodged with a clean dry paint brush is
recommended. Check all electrical connections for signs of corrosion and/or electrical arcing.

The CompuScale III memory backup and calibrator batteries should be replaced annually. The 3.6 Volt lithium
battery (located on the mother board top right corner) should only be replaced while the CompuScale III power
is 

ON

. The 9 Volt calibrator battery is located on the back of the CompuScale III door.
