You can also load, edit, and save an existing configuration file.
Restoring Factory Default Settings
Note:
Be certain that you’ve saved any other configuration files to the host com-
puter that you may want to reload later.
Defaulting by Menu or Serial Commands
Default settings can be reset for individual menu pages or for all menus at once.
To restore factory defaults for individual menus (Communications, Operations, Code
Types, Output, or Setup):
Click the DEFAULT button on the specific menu.
Click SEND/NO SAVE, and then RECEIVE FROM SCANNER (to see current sett
i
ngs).
To restore factory defaults for ALL menus, select the
DEFAULT
button on the Reset
dialog in the Utilities menu or send a
<Ad>
serial command.
Defaulting by New
Close and save your current file.
Select
New
in the File pull-down menu.
The resulting File will have your original factory default settings. Give it a new name
and save to it as you make changes.
Click
SEND/NO SAVE
, and then
RECEIVE FROM SCANNER
.
Defaulting by Hardware Reset (shorting Pins 7 and 11)
If a software default reset is not possible, it may be necessary to default the scan-
ner by shorting pins 7 and 11 on the 25 pin host connector.
Caution:
Be certain that the correct pins are shorted. Shorting the wrong pins can
cause serious damage to the unit.
1. Turn power to the decoder ON.
2. Locate pins 7 and 11 on the host connector
and mark with a pen.
(Use a small length of light wire approx. 4
inches, 18 to 26 gauge for shorting.)
3. Momentarily short pins 11 and 7. Listen for a
series of short beeps.
Within 3 seconds, short pins 11 and 7 again. A
longer beep should be heard. If not, repeat the
process.
