Storage
Microgard products may be stored according to customary storage practices. It is recommended that the suit is
stored in its original box, in a dry, clean condition, folded in such away so as not to damage the visor with the zip
slightly open (approx. 10cm/4”) and fully waxed. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and temperature extremes
beyond the range of -10
⁰
C to + 60
⁰
C. If stored correctly and maintained in strict accordance with these instructions,
the projected shelf-life of MICROCHEM
®
6000 is 10 years
ATTENTION! If storing the protective suit on vehicles or containers abrasion through permanent friction with the
contact surface has to be avoided.
Maintenance
All maintenance work shall be carried out by qualified service engineers or technicians. For information on
approved service centre locations, training seminars and accreditation please contact Microgard Ltd.
All maintenance work carried out must be noted on the record card supplied with each suit. The maintenance
periods specified below refer only to the protective suit ensemble.
1
Refer to page 7 for advice on decontamination.
2
Refer to page 8 for information on internal pressure testing
to EN 464.
3
The suit should be inspected for any irregularities, including; scratches or abrasion, damage to the
material or seams, discolouration to the visor, swollen or brittle sections Visible changes to the outside of the
suit material such as light abrasion and / or slight discolouration may not impair its protective effectiveness
against chemicals. If you are in any way unsure and for advice please contact Microgard.
4
Refer to DYNAT Zip
maintenance instructions supplied with each suit.
ATTENTION! The suit should only be re-used if it has not been contaminated or damaged in any way. No
attempt to repair the suit should be made by unauthorised persons.
Microgard suits can be incinerated or buried in controlled landfill without harming the environment.
Disposal restrictions depend only upon the contaminant introduced during use. Refer to the ancillary PPE
manufacturers’ instructions for information on the safe disposal of their product.
Limited-use gas tight suits should be worn until hygienic cleaning is required or chemical contamination has occurred
and disposal is necessary. MICROCHEM
®
6000 is a non-breathable material so the wearer’s body temperature may rise
during use. The work load should therefore be planned to reduce the risk of heat stress. The suit should only be re-used
if it has not been contaminated or damaged in any way. Before re-storage into the supplied container the suit must be
recertified to EN 464 for internal pressure testing - Follow instructions as detailed on Page 8
In the event of an internal pressure test taking place the record card located in the suit must be completed and
retained within the suit at all times.
In accordance with EN 943-2 the reader is advised that compliance with the performance requirements of this
standard do not infer compliance with standards relating to other hazards e.g. heat and flame.
